I was thinking along those lines (vol.3)

Something changes in the room every time you touch it. Partial thoughts and hesitations moving as fragments. Each page heartbreakingly banal, yet every line internalized. A quiet lesson in how to behave, how not to stray, how to fill in what has already been outlined.

But what happens when a line escapes?

I trace, lose, pick up again. At times I follow; at times I don’t. The lines continue onto the floor, into the room–no longer fixed to the page. What begins as instruction slowly turns into habit. Something learned before it is understood. A way of seeing that strays even when the drawing stops. Building on reflections around how play, imagination, and creativity are shaped in early learning, this coloring book follows a mode of “thinking along the lines”, tracing and questioning the tools that quietly condition how these ideas are formed.

I was thinking along those lines (vol.2) / Mommy where is our  house going?

...even if a line escapes, we rarely let the page go with it.

“Ultimately, there is no single correct way to play or to construct a house.”
Perhaps that is the point here.
Maybe the house is allowed to wander.
Maybe the borders were never fixed .
Maybe some lines are helpful–until they aren’t.

Coping with Mechanisms

“Coping with Mechanisms" is an immersive art installation that addresses the recent rise of anxiety disorders among young adults and teenagers in the digital age. This thought-provoking project showcases the meditative potential of activities like crochet and knitting as calming activities that counterbalance the negative effects of excessive screen time and daily information overload.

Visitors are invited to reflect on their own mental well-being and explore alternative coping mechanisms, while listening to the hidden audio pieces inside the structure. The installation creates a serene environment where individuals can engage in the meditative qualities of activities like crochet and knitting, as well as listen to young adults talk about coping and their experience with anxiety, with the countering anxiety related audio environment.

By raising awareness about the impact of anxiety disorders and promoting the benefits of mindful crafts, “Coping with Mechanisms" aims to inspire conversations and action to address this pressing issue. It emphasises the importance of finding a balanced relationship with technology while prioritising mental health. Through this project, I hope to empower individuals, particularly the younger generation, to seek healthier ways to navigate the digital landscape and promote holistic well-being.
